The ordinary people never profit from a war. During a war free trade is stopped and ordinary people have trouble to get the stuff needed for life like food etc.
So if you watch the results of the old wars in Europe or America, you will never find the ordinary people make profit from it. It does not depend on who is winning the war and who is losing it.
The ordinary people are the ones, who pay for the war anyway.
I agree with you Jenna. In all wars, the end result is the suffering of the average citizen. The government uses war as justification to confiscate the rights of it’s citizens. Once the war is over the government rarely restores those rights back to the populace. There are many examples such as warentless wire taps, conscription, and many others.
